Terms of Service

Last updated 25 August 2026

Who this covers

These terms cover the Cercle mobile app (iOS and Android) and this website (cercle.events). Cercle is operated by a single independent developer, not a company with a separate legal entity yet โ€” for any question about these terms, contact hello@cercle.events. By creating an account or using Cercle, you agree to these terms.

Using Cercle

You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. Cercle connects people through clubs built around a precise activity โ€” not generic categories, and not photo-based matching. You agree not to use Cercle to harass, impersonate, or endanger other members, and not to create multiple accounts to reset or manipulate your reliability score.

The reliability score

The core of Cercle is a visible show-up rate: the real percentage of events you RSVP to that you're then confirmed to have actually attended, in person, via a code, a peer, or an admin scan โ€” not a self-reported checkbox. This score is shown to other members on clubs and events you're part of. It is calculated automatically from your real activity and can't be edited, hidden, or purchased away.

Clubs and events

Any member can create a club and, once trusted enough, propose an event (see how hosting rights unlock in the app). If you create or administer a club, you're responsible for the events you organize and the accuracy of what you post. Cercle doesn't vet venues, verify insurance, or supervise in-person events โ€” attending or hosting a real-world meetup carries the same everyday risks as any in-person gathering, and you attend at your own judgment and risk. We can remove content, suspend a club, or suspend an account that violates these terms or our moderation guidelines, reviewed through the in-app reporting flow.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or attempts to fabricate reliability-score history. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when your account is deleted.

No warranty, limited liability

Cercle is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep the reliability score accurate and the app running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that every member you meet through Cercle will behave as their score suggests. To the extent allowed by law, Cercle isn't liable for what happens at an in-person event you attend or host through the app.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
